We are still in the heart of Easter — fifty days of celebration that refuse to let the resurrection shrink back into a single morning. And in that spirit, today's gospel gives us one of Jesus' most tender promises: I go to prepare a place for you.
A place. For you. In the house of his Father.
It is a promise made to people who are anxious, who are grieving, who do not know the way. And Jesus answers them — and us — not with a map, but with himself. I am the way, the truth, and the life.
